Based on UNEB data, 84,301 candidates sat for the 2024 PLE, with 10.7% achieving Division One, a decline from the previous year.
A larger proportion of candidates passed in Division Two, with 397,589 securing this grade, followed by 165,284 in Division Three and 75,556 in Division Four. However, 64,251 candidates failed the exams and will not advance to Senior One, representing 8.2% of the total candidates.
Despite the drop in Division One passes, UNEB Executive Director Dan Odongo stated that the overall performance in 2024 was an improvement compared to 2023. “This year, 91.8% of candidates passed the PLE, a significant rise from last year’s 88.0%,” he remarked.
As is customary at Ug Study Resources, we are excited to present the top-performing schools in Uganda for PLE 2024, particularly those that achieved a perfect 4-in-4 aggregate score. Leading the list are schools from Kampala, Wakiso, and Masaka districts, which have consistently shown outstanding academic results.
