The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has directed all schools and examination centres to display the 2025 candidates’ registers from August 10 to October 10, 2025. This exercise is meant to help candidates, parents, and teachers verify registration details and correct any errors before the national examinations begin.

Below is a simple guide to help you check if you are registered for the PLE, UCE, or UACE 2025 exams.

1. Check the Public Registers

  • Visit your school or examination centre where you are registered.

  • The candidates’ register must be displayed on school noticeboards.

  • For students in schools without UNEB centre status, check at the host school or the district headquarters where registers are also displayed.

👉 While checking, confirm:

  • Index/personal number

  • Correct spelling of your names

  • Date of birth (day, month, year)

  • Gender

  • Subjects and papers registered for (UCE & UACE)

  • Correct photo attached to your details

2. Use the UNEB SMS Service

If you cannot easily access the physical register, UNEB has introduced an SMS verification service.

✅ Steps:

  1. Open your SMS app.

  2. Type Reg followed by your full index number.

    • Example: Reg U1234/567

  3. Send the message to 6600.

  4. You will receive a reply confirming your registration status.

📌 Note: Normal SMS charges apply depending on your mobile service provider.

3. What to Do If Your Name is Missing or Wrong

  • If you paid registration fees but your name is missing, report to your school immediately.

  • If the school does not resolve the issue, contact UNEB directly with proof of payment.

  • In case of errors in biodata (name spelling, date of birth, subjects, or wrong photo):

    • PLE candidates → schools must fill amendment forms via the UNEB portal.

    • UCE & UACE candidates → schools should send a formal amendment letter to UNEB with your National ID or birth certificate attached.

Important Dates

  • Register display period: August 10 – October 10, 2025

  • Deadline for corrections: October 10, 2025

All candidates and parents are strongly encouraged to check their details early. Confirming your registration status now will save you from last-minute problems that could prevent you from sitting your exams.
